Behavior Analytic Interventions for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Resumo

Los trastornos del espectro autista (TEA) son trastornos generalizados del desarrollo caracterizado por deficiencias en la conducta social y comunicativa y excesivos comportamientos repetitivos y estereotipados. La efectividad de las intervenciones de análisis del comportamiento para mejorar las deficiencias de comportamiento y los excesos en las personas con TEA ha sido bien documentada. Este artículo describe varios tipos de intervenciones  del campo del análisis del comportamiento que son utilizadas para tratar las limitaciones de las habilidades a las que a menudo se enfrenta esta población, incluidos los procedimientos de enseñanza altamente estructurados, tales como la enseñanza por ensayo discreto y los procedimientos de enseñanza naturalísticos. Se enfatiza la utilidad de las intervenciones basadas en el análisis del comportamiento para el establecimiento de repertorios verbales.

Clarissa S Barnes, Southern Illinois University

Clarissa Barnes is a Ph.D. student at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (expected degree date: 2013). She holds a M.S. (2010) in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a B.S. (2007) in psychology from Western Michigan University. Clarissa is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. 

Leigh Grannan, Southern Illinois University

Leigh Grannan is a Ph.D. student at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, she holds a M.S. in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Leigh is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and currently serves as a clinical instruction at Southern Illinois University's Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders (CASD).

 


Sadie Lovett, Southern Illinois University

Sadie Lovett is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Ph.D. student at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (expected degree date: 2012). She holds a M.S. in Behavior Analysis and Therapy from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a B.S. in psychology from Western Michigan University. 

Ruth Anne Rehfeldt, Southern Illinois University

Dr. Ruth Anne Rehfeldt is a Professor in the Rehabilitation Services undergraduate program and an affiliated faculty in the Behavior Analysis and Therapy program. She holds a Ph.D. (1998) and M.A. (1995) from the Behavior Analysis Program (in Psychology) at the University of Nevada, and a B.A. (1993) in psychology from the University of Puget Sound.  She is also a Board Certified Behavior AnalystDr. Rehfeldt has authored over 60 articles and book chapters, primarily in the areas of stimulus equivalence and verbal relations, autism, developmental disabilities and verbal behavior. Dr. Rehfeldt is currently the Editor of The Psychological Record and an editorial board member for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behaviour, the Behavior Analyst and Education and Treatment of Children.
